4.7.16 – More Cowbell! Too Many Zooz, New Orleans Suspects and BreakScience

A band performs energetically on stage. One musician plays a saxophone while jumping mid-air, another plays a trumpet, and a third plays percussion. The stage is brightly lit, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

A lot of unusual and exciting musical ideas arise simply from people having a great time, taking risks, and trusting each other. HUSHconcerts is proud to present three bands that mirror this phenomenon. With their own undeniable chemistry, combined experiences, and talents, they each produce their own unique, exciting musical style.

HUSHconcerts proudly presents TOO MANY ZOOZ on Sunday, April 10, at The Independent. The trio, best known for their rousing performances in the Union Square subway station, features David “King of Sludge” Parks on percussion, Matt Doe on trumpet, and Leo P. on the baritone sax. Their influences include rock, jazz, EDM and African drumming — all of which they’ve combined into a unique genre they’ve dubbed “brass house.” Each musician is unrelentingly talented at their craft, allowing them to create shocking and energetic brass and woodwind sound-manipulations while putting on a wildly entertaining live show. The show opens with the 16-piece raucous drum and brass marching band, MISSION DELIRIUM. Tickets are on sale now! Get them before they sell out at HERE!

Comprised of world-renowned drummer/producer, Adam Deitch (Lettuce, Pretty Lights, John Scofield), and keyboardist/producer Borahm Lee (Kanye West, Lauryn Hill, Matisyahu), Break Science is a musical force to be reckoned with. Drawing on their inspiration from New York City’s rich musical legacy — funk, jazz, soul — and their own hip hop backgrounds, the duo uses live loops, synths, and Lee’s virtuosic keyboard skills to rebuild classic sounds into something truly modern. This is cutting edge electronic music for the funk aficionado. Joining Break Science is San Francisco’s live electronic trio, NVO. Tickets for this unique event are on sale now at HUSHconcerts.com.
