Celebrate 10 amazing years of Treasure Island Music Festival at the Silent Disco presented by FlipFlop Wines. We proudly present to you another brilliant lineup of incredible producers and DJs curated and produced by the silent disco aficionados at HUSHconcerts. On Saturday, October 15, we put the hip on hop with sets by KPFA “Hard Knock Radio” legend DAVEY D, “TruSkool’s REN THE VINYL ARCHAEOLOGIST and SoundPieces’ DJ DIALS. Themeset master MOTION POTION will then do a patented set of “West Coast Underground Hip Hop Roots” before surrendering the stage to a SECRET GUEST for the closing set. On Sunday we get the dancing started at noon with SPLIT followed by MATT HUBERT and a DJ set by Bay Area live disco production team MANICS. Live electronic quartet NVO will play a full band set followed by female production duo BODY PARTY. All of this will take place at the end of a historic seaplane dock allowing you to literally dance above the water in TIMF’s new location on Treasure Island. Strap on the scuba gear and rev up the time machine and take the plunge into the subterranean city of Atlantis. Ghost Ship Halloween, the Bay Area’s most beloved Halloween event is back for its 9th year at the gargantuan Pier 70 in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco. For the past eight years Ghost Ship Halloween has dropped jaws and thrilled thousands with unparalleled original art installations schemed and built from scratch from recyclable materials and enjoyed only at Ghost Ship. In 2016, Ghost Ship will again run for two huge nights, Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29. For the first time ever, Ghost Ship will feature an elevated 2-floor VIP-access mezzanine with prime views of the main stage and fully hosted bars.
With past events boasting a Victorian-era Ghost Ship, a 1930s cruise ship, an alien space craft hovering over a zombie ghost town, a massive nuclear submarine, a 40’ tall Clipper ship, and last year’s atomic stage, the MAKE BIG ART! team is incorporating the mezzanines and other new spaces into their most ambitious outlay ever. Along with their megalomaniacal schemes, Ghost Ship will again feature original installations by the leaders of the Bay Area’s dynamic large-scale production art community, and the world’s most exciting art-cars. The soundscape of Ghost Ship will be electrified by multiple stages hosted by top DJ crews featuring more than 50 of the Bay Area’s finest DJs. Friday, October 28 will feature DJ sets by DIRTYBIRD superstars JUSTIN MARTIN and J. PHLIP and a live performance by Toronto’s legendary house trio THE NEW DEAL. On Saturday, October 29, we present legendary electronic acts THE ORB and DJ DAN, and the triumphant reunion of the 20+ piece indie techno circus THE MUTAYTOR. As always, Ghost Ship’s attendees provide the final touch of artwork with original costume culture that annually raises the bar on spectacle.
